When I adopted my cat, I told the lady from the shelter that I was naming the kitten Piper after the character from “Charmed”. Surprisingly, she tells me she is good friends with actress Holly Marie Combs – the actress who played the role of Piper. Many years later I went to a dog show and the shelter lady recognized me. She still remembered me and had told Holly about my cat.

I found Kylo when she was only 5 weeks old. He was underweight and not moving so I took him home and fed him every two hours with a spoon – day and night. Kylo recovered well but at 13 weeks, his right front paw had to be amputated. This never held him back though. Kylo is a little fighter and my hero!

My husband I were walking to our local bakery, when we passed by a pet store that had small shelter kittens in the window for adoption. We hadn’t talked about adopting a cat, but it was love at first sight. We brought little Sardine home and quickly discovered she was sick. She was already part of the family so bringing her back to the shelter was not an option. We nursed her back to health and now two years later she is the first little face I see when I wake up in the morning and when we get home from work she is always waiting to greet us. She turned our house into a home. We are so happy we decided to adopt her.
